Does Kenya Airways have Seating Policy?

If you feel cramped in your Economy seat, Kenya Airways offers you Economy Max option. With Economy Max you can book up to 2 additional seats for yourself. Create your own personal space. But this option is available only on Kenya Airways operated flights. The other seats available for selection include:

• Economy Comfort seats - Located in the front section of the Main Cabin.
• Preferred seats - These are just behind Economy Comfort seats.
• Extra Legroom seats - Located in the exit rows of the plane, they offer you more legroom.
• Standard seats - The choices available on these are window, aisle & middle seats.
• Regular seats - They are allowed free of charge for those who do not pre-select.

How to select a seat on Kenya Airways?

Kenya Airways allows you to select a seat online at any time. You can also visit Kenya Airways sales office and customer excellence center to place a request for a particular seat type. A few types of seats may be available only on select flights and only Kenya Airways operated flights. You will find Economy Comfort seats only on B787 Dreamliner aircraft and on Kenya Airways operated flights to New York, Amsterdam, London, Paris and Guangzhou. Here are several things you should keep in mind about seat selection on Kenya Airways.

• A group will be offered seats - Standard seats or regular seats may be offered depending on their availability.
• Seat selection on codeshare flights - Only advance seat selection may be possible.
• Location of the Economy Comfort seats may differ - On B787 Dreamliner aircraft, it is in the first three rows (11, 12 and14) of economy class cabin.
• The maximum number of seats you can purchase - Up to 2 Economy Max seats can be chosen only on B787 and B737.

How much does Kenya Airways charge for seats?

Kenya Airways will not charge you for regular seats, but advance seat selection is not possible for them. Standard seats, Extra Comfort seats and Preferred seats are available for pre-selection at a Kenya Airways seat selection fee. You will be able to see the prices when the check-in opens, at the time of booking or after booking. The seat map of the aircraft will let you know the price and availability of the seats. Asante members may be able to get a 10% discount on preferred seats. Asante is the frequent flyer program of the Kenya Airways. The price may be higher for a longer duration flight. For example, Economy Max seats on domestic routes will cost you $15 and on North American routes, it will cost $120. • Asante members - Platinum members will be getting a preferred seat free of charge. It is free of charge within 72 hours and 24 hours for Gold and Silver tier members.
• Travellers with infants - A bassinet seat will be free of charge.
• Passengers who do not pre-select a seat - They will not be charged for a regular seat.
